Denver Council PTSA is committed to building healthy students, families and healthy communities and believes that DCPTSA has an important role to play in providing schools, parents, teachers, students and communities with the tools, resources and training to shape healthy school environments.
Denver Council PTSA aims to advance the health of Colorado’s students in fulfilling that commitment. DCPTSA ages to support and advance the health of Colorado’s students, families and community members by:
Research shows healthy habits learned in childhood support proper growth and development of children’s bodies and brains to promote better health outcomes in adulthood. Because mental and physical health are linked to learning ability and because good health is a critical predictor of future productivity, Denver Council supports schools in becoming places of learning that model, institutionalize and advance healthy habits among students in Colorado schools.
Fact: Schools play a critical role in teaching children to become healthy, educated productive citizens.
Fact: Healthy children learn more easily, miss less school, present fewer behavioral problems, have better attitudes and stay in school and graduate
